Meet the Board: Jared Stadlin

Jared Stadlin is probably not the only lawyer who has carved out a career in warehouse logistics. But his unique skillset helps Linden Warehouse in Linden, New Jersey – and the industry at the same time.

Linden handles industrial commodities, cosmetic ingredients, lubricants, chemicals and related products, while providing specialized space for hazardous materials and products requiring temperature control or food-grade storage.

During Stadlin’s more than 15 years at the company, he has tackled everything from construction management to quoting on warehousing requirements and growing Linden’s liquid packaging business. Plus, he’s tapped that legal degree as associate in-house counsel managing contracts, claims, risk management and corporate finance. His work includes maintaining specialized knowledge in chemical warehousing for the benefit of Linden’s customers.

Stadlin notes that his company values its IWLA membership. “We’ve been a member of the IWLA for decades and believe that our participation alongside peer warehouses and partner members has made us a better company.”

He brings this enthusiasm for the IWLA and his career experience to a leadership role as the 2018-2019 IWLA secretary. However, this service is not his first for the association. As an active member of and board liaison to the IWLA Insurance & Legal Committee, Stadlin assists in the development of new content for the annual Warehouse Legal Symposium. Further to help guide the association’s response to laws and regulations and actively engage with legislators and regulators, Stadlin served as a multiyear chair of the IWLA Government Affairs Committee.

Stadlin explains that he is invested in IWLA due to the caliber of the people and companies within the organization. “My involvement is simply an opportunity to spend time working with and for individuals I respect, and whose company I enjoy.”

But his service does not end with IWLA. Stadlin’s resume includes local and regional organizations that touch all facets of the supply chain: the New Jersey Motor Truck Association; the Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce; WERC; the National Association of Chemical Distributors; CSCMP; and more. He is also the founding chairman of the Gateway Warehouse Association in New Jersey.

He holds a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.

Stadlin is slated to become IWLA treasurer following the IWLA Annual Business Meeting during the 2019 IWLA Convention in Savannah, Ga. – continuing on a path to the IWLA chairmanship in 2021.
