High portfolio occupancy at end of 2018 and ongoing strong demand supports development of two new spec warehouses.
The South Florida office of Duke Realty, the leading domestic-focused logistics property REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) in the United States, announces that it is constructing two new industrial spec buildings in South Florida, a market where it virtually had no availability in its portfolio at year-end 2018, but demand for quality distribution space remains among the highest in the country.

Copans 95 1731, a 100,876-square-foot modern distribution center, is being built in Pompano Beach, just ½ mile west of the Copans Road I-95 interchange and two blocks from Duke Realty’s 4-building Copans Business Park. The front-load building will include 32′ clear, 25 dock doors, two drive-in doors, parking for 75 automobiles and a 110′ trailer court. The second building under construction is located in Turnpike Crossing, where Duke Realty’s four existing buildings are near full occupancy. The 146,253-square-foot building, which will be known as Turnpike Crossing 6717, fronts the east side of Florida’s Turnpike at Jog Road in West Palm Beach. A rear-load building, Turnpike Crossing will include 32′ clear, 51 dock doors, two drive-in doors, parking for 231 cars and a shared 180′ truck court. Construction on both buildings is underway. Copans 95 1731 is expected to be complete in September 2019 and Turnpike Crossing 6717 is slated for delivery in December 2019.
