A group of progressive lawmakers, headed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), sent a letter to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on July 16 calling for an investigation into working conditions at the warehouses of the e-commerce retail giant Amazon and its subsidiaries. The letter was prompted by several media reports involving conditions at the company, which received a large amount of public attention in the lead up to the company’s annual Prime Day sales event.
