Duke Realty’s Jim Connor Becomes First REIT Leader to Sign CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ Pledge

Commercial real estate CEO joins coalition of more than 750 CEOs and presidents of leading businesses, further advancing the company’s long-term commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Duke Realty Corporation (NYSE:DRE), the nation’s largest, domestic-only, pure-play logistics real estate company, announces that James B. Connor has become the first CEO of a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) to sign the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ pledge to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. To-date, more than 750 CEOs and presidents of leading companies and organizations have agreed to the commitment which includes taking definitive actions to cultivate workplace environments where diverse experiences and perspectives are welcome and employees feel comfortable and empowered to discuss diversity and inclusion.

“Signing the CEO Action pledge is a natural step in Duke Realty’s ongoing commitment to engender diversity and inclusion,” said Mr. Connor. “We began our diversity and inclusion program more than 15 years ago and it continues to be an integral part of our culture today. The CEO Action pledge externally communicates our support and confirms our commitment to implement actions that encourage conversation and engagement around diversity and inclusion in the workplace and foster collaboration between organizations.”

In addition to a Diversity and Inclusion Council comprised of associates from various departments within the company, Duke Realty has several other initiatives in place to ensure a diverse workforce and inclusive culture where all opinions are welcome. These include employment and mentoring programs, educational events, and an annual award in recognition of diversity and inclusion excellence. The company also is focused on increasing and strengthening partnerships with diverse suppliers and providing assistance to underserved members of the communities in which it operates.
