The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) posted a list of records required by the Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) rule, to help ease the verification process during an FSVP inspection of imported food by a foreign supplier. The FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), requires importers to verify that the food they are importing into the United States has been produced in a manner that meets applicable U.S. food safety standards. The list is meant to be a guide for importers, but it is appropriate to note that not every record on the list may be applicable in all cases.
