Three times a year, a dedicated group of volunteer leaders take time out of their busy schedules to attend the IWLA Board of Directors meetings. These day-long sessions focus solely on the association, with updates given by each committee, chapter, and council entity. The fall 2016 meeting was today in Chicago. The board focuses on strategic discussions of new avenues for the association.
Here is just a short sample of topics discussed in today’s board meeting: labor shortages, training needs, diversity, and education of students and young professionals about warehouse logistics careers. Thank you to those who participated in today’s meeting and continue to serve IWLA and further the industry. Also, IWLA new membership is on a near-record pace — and member retention is the highest it’s been in years (above the industry average). 2017 is going to be a great year!
