IWLA welcomes the appointment of Kevin Murray as a small shipper representative on the Railroad-Shipper Transportation Advisory Council (RSTAC) of the U.S. Surface Transportation Board (STB). Acting STB Chairman Ann D. Begeman recently appointed him to the position.
Murray is vice president of Supply Chain for Red Gold, a family-owned canned-tomato manufacturer located in Elwood, Ind. His responsibilities include managing transportation logistics, as well as forward warehousing.
IWLA actively supported Murray’s nomination because of his deep understanding of warehousing, logistics, and the importance of efficient rail service. In his position, he has worked closely with many IWLA-member companies.
The RSTAC provides advice on regulatory, policy and legislative matters, as appropriate, to the STB chairman, the secretary of transportation; the senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation; and the house Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
