There is strength in numbers: One 2017 IWLA Convention breakout session focuses on how IWLA works with other associations, coalitions and, its own members to influence regulatory policy in Washington, D.C. Joining IWLA Washington Representative Pat O’Connor will be Corey Rosenbusch, president & COO, Global Cold Chain Alliance and Brett Mears, president of Palmer Logistics and IWLA Secretary.

O’Connor will give a brief overview of the regulatory process and how it differs from the legislative process. And, each expert will share his perspective and experience with influencing policy and working with agencies. O’Connor will also review the current scope of IWLA’s regulatory effort—from building relationships and being an expert resource to agencies, as is the case with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Education Session Focuses on Labor Law Issues
Where do we stand with the overtime rule? How about the persuader rule? What do you need to know about the expanded definition of the disabilities act? 2016 was a tumultuous year for labor issues. Now we have a new administration and key appointments added to the mix. Ken Yerkes, partner, Barnes & Thornburg, LLP, will lead this 2017 IWLA Convention education session slated for Monday, March 20 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
