The White House announced last week that Eugene Scalia’s nomination to be Secretary of Labor had been sent to the Senate for consideration. The Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee has scheduled a confirmation hearing on the President’s choice to head the Labor Department at 9 a.m. Thursday, September 19. The business community has been mostly in favor of Scalia leading the DOL, but several Democratic senators are expected raise concerns and express opposition to the nominee during the hearing.
